Dry Season at the Everglades

December is just around the corner and while the northern states experience cooler weather and even the chance of a white Christmas, we experience this time of year slightly different at Wild Florida airboat rides. In school, we’re typically taught four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. However, in the Florida Everglades, there’s only two seasons: wet and dry.

Starting around December and continuing through April, Florida airboat rides experiences the dry season. Instead of drastically colder weather and snowstorms, the Everglades’ water levels drop. This forces fish and crustacean to gather in smaller areas and allows easier feeding for birds during their nesting season. Think of this as taking some coins and throwing them in a body of water. Is it easier finding them in a small bowl or in a swimming pool?

If blistering heat and pesky mosquitos were a concern before, then this is a great time to book Florida airboat rides and experience cooler weather and fewer mosquito encounters during your ride. A light jacket will suffice during your tour to keep warm due to the combination of lower temperatures and wind from the airboat in motion.

No snow, no freezing temperatures, no problem! At Wild Florida, the perfect time to book Florida airboat rides is all year round! Call us at 407-901-2563 and book one of our Orlando airboat tours.
