What Is the Giraffe Painting Experience?
This isn’t just any animal encounter—this is your chance to meet Leroy, Wild Florida’s tallest (and quite possibly cutest) resident. Leroy is a reticulated giraffe, known for his bent giraffe horn or ossicone, giant brown eyes, and love for taking photos. But he also has a surprising talent when it comes to painting!
During this experience, you and Leroy will team up to create a colorful piece of art. With a canvas in hand, some tasty giraffe snacks, and a few drops of paint, Leroy will use his tongue to guide a paintbrush and make something truly wild and wonderful. It's messy, magical, and one-of-a-kind.
What To Expect
Your adventure begins at the Giraffe Feeding Platform, located next to the exit of our Drive-thru Safari Park. Once you climb the steps, you’ll be greeted by Leroy who’s just as excited to meet you as you are to meet him!
You’ll start by choosing up to three paint colors to personalize your canvas. Then, you’ll drizzle a few drops of paint onto it and get ready for the real fun to begin. As you hold and guide the canvas, Leroy will use his tongue to move the paintbrush and create his one-of-a-kind artwork—all while enjoying a few of his favorite snacks along the way, of course!
And yes, you can feed Leroy yourself! Feeling his long tongue gently take a carrot from your hand is a moment that’ll leave you laughing with the whole group. It’s the perfect mix of creativity, connection, and just the right amount of wild.
