African Savanna
Glide into Africa without leaving Central Florida. This stretch of the safari recreates the vast East African plains, where golden grasses ripple in the breeze and wildlife moves with purpose.
Our savanna habitat draws inspiration from regions like Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. Known for their dry climate and beautiful acacia trees, these ecosystems support a rich web of life with herds of herbivores on the move or simply resting together in the shade.
Savannas are some of the planet’s most essential grazing grounds, shaped by seasonal migration and the intricate balance of life and land. At Wild Florida Adventure Park, this world comes to life as zebras graze peacefully, elands browse the brush and Watusi cattle stretch out under the sun.
What You’ll See
Here are just a few of the incredible animals you might encounter in this sun-drenched section of the African safari:
Zebras – social grazers with iconic black-and-white stripes
Elands – one of the world’s largest antelope species
Watusi Cattle – known for their enormous, majestic horns
Cypress Wetlands
Next, cruise by the cool, shaded beauty of Florida’s native wetlands. This part of the Safari Park mirrors the freshwater ecosystems found throughout the southeastern United States, especially the Everglades and Big Cypress regions.
These wetlands are full of standing water, rich soil and tall cypress trees. Cypress trees love the water and even lose their needles in the fall. The strange-looking roots poking up from the ground, called cypress knees, help keep the trees steady and may help them breathe in the swampy soil.
Cypress wetlands play a vital role in Florida’s environment. They filter pollutants from the water, store excess stormwater, and create essential habitat for a wide range of species, from reptiles to wading birds. Without these swamps, Florida’s water systems and biodiversity would be at serious risk.
At Wild Florida, we’ve recreated this vital ecosystem to give guests a deeper appreciation for the state’s wild and wondrous side. Want to explore even deeper? Add an airboat tour to glide through real Florida swamps and spot wildlife in their natural habitat!
What You’ll See
Expect to see a mix of native and exotic animals in this magical part of the park:
White-Tailed Deer – quiet browsers often spotted along the forest edge
Elk – large grazers with impressive antlers and calm temperaments
Sika Deer – small, agile deer originally from East Asia but now found in select habitats across the U.S.
Take the Wheel. Take the Journey.
Two landscapes. Over 150 native and exotic animals. One unforgettable Safari Park. Whether you're planning a family day trip or just need a new weekend adventure, Wild Florida’s Drive-thru Safari Park delivers immersive exploration and memorable moments.
