# Florida Wildlife Corridor aims to protect Florida panthers and black bears

Did you know that Florida is home to over three thousand black bears? Unfortunately, due to human activity, black bears and Florida panthers are becoming isolated to areas that don’t allow them to freely move between territories. This means that there is less space for black bears to share with other black bears, and panthers with panthers, resulting in conflicts over territory and possibly local extinction.

To help conservation efforts, our [Orlando airboat rides](https://blog.wildfloridairboats.com/../) at Wild Florida donates a percentage of our alligator picture proceeds to the Friends of the Florida Panther Refuge. It’s no easy feat, but there are many people spreading awareness and support for a proposed Florida Wildlife Corridor. Not only does it protect species like black bears and panthers, but it keeps the watershed draining into the Everglades more clean and secure.
