What is the best time of year for an airboat ride in Orlando?
In Florida, the weather is great almost 365 days a year... which means, anytime is a great time to take an Orlando airboat tour at Wild Florida! But, spring is a beautiful time of year because the trees and plants are in bloom, which adds color to the landscape. Also, spring is when the water is warm and the alligators mate, so you may hear them sounding off their mating rituals as you ride through the wetlands. Fall is also a great time of year to experience natural Florida on our airboat rides because the cooler weather brings out some of the fur-bearing animals such as deer.
Am I guaranteed to see an alligator during the airboat ride?
We can’t guarantee that you will see alligators during your airboat tour, but we can guarantee that our captains will make every effort to show you alligators while on your tour. Our airboat captains have many years of experience and know where gators can often be found on our nature preserve. However, since alligators roam the wild, each airboat tour is unique (which is really what makes it that much more fun!). It is very unusual not to see alligators on our tours, but some will naturally see more than others.Will I get wet on the ride?
You will not get soaked, but you may feel an occasional light spray of water as the airboat maneuvers through the wetlands. and hey... on a hot Florida day, you'll probably welcome the mist!
What age do I have to be to ride?
All ages are welcome to ride our airboats... we love having young children and the young at heart at Wild Florida! Some things to note though... children under the age of 4 may be bothered by the noise of the airboat engine (but some babies have been known to be lulled by the ride instead). Many times it just depends on your child and what they're used to.
