As we begin March (can you believe it?), you may notice the herds of college kids flocking to the warm weather here in Florida and congregating at the beaches. This can only mean one thing - SPRING BREAK. If your kids are out of school for spring break, why not take advantage of the warm weather here in Florida to take an exciting air boat tour at Wild Florida?!
Spring is a great time to visit Wild Florida for many reasons. First of all, the weather is beautiful - there is nothing better than a bright blue Florida day at the headwaters of the Everglades. In addition, nighttime air boat tours are incredible if you are lucky enough to catch the sunset out on the swamp. The weather at sunset is perfect - it’s cool enough to enjoy and not too humid that you’ll start to sweat as you ride through the Florida swamp.
Second, late spring is alligator mating season. The best time of year to spot a gator in the wild is during spring time, when alligators will be sounding off to their mates. In April and May, alligators form "bellowing choruses", where they form a group and bellow together for a few minutes a couple of times each day. They usually perform this mating ritual a few hours before sunrise. Then at night, the alligators gather together in a large group for group courtship, known as "alligator dances".
Come to Wild Florida in the spring to experience these one-of-a-kind mating rituals up close. Our air boat captains are experts at pointing out where wildlife can be seen on our Orlando air boat tours. Call 407-901-2563 today to book an air boat tour for you and your family!
